Thanks for the reading list!

I noted a red flag when 'the-science' became a monolithic proper noun/weaponised term. One of the hardest questions to answer plainly, is "what is ____" [insert term or object of choice].

Steven, thanks for sharing the "inner workings" of Pitchfork Papers. I had gathered some of your ideals from past newsletters, but to read them as unifying principles was insightful.

I share you concern of external meddling in the affairs of business. As a life-long restauranteaur, I would rather write about how to make an excellent hamburger. However, I find myself drawn towards defending my business from the tyrants and charletans who seek to politicize my hamburger for their personal gain.

Beautiful and thanks for sharing.

From my limited understanding it seems Buddhism offers some profound insights even beyond those of the western religions. I should emphasize I am not intelligent enough to be sure of this.

My sense is that ultimately all spiritual practices and theologies end up at the same place, if you follow them back (or up) far enough. We all enter that realm through different doors with different labels, even one marked quantum physics and find that if we venture far enough in, we uncover the simple fact that we are all energy and all connected with everything and all living in self-organising criticality, the design of which is driven by the energy itself. Thank you for your comment and interest!

Thank you. That is very, very helpful. A shortcut to reading your older posts and figuring it out for myself. (Although I will read your older posts.)

Thank you for engaging with this post and the archive - I still have to complete the backlog of 2020, but am getting there slowly, but am delighted to read that you will be visiting it.

Stephen, thank you for this explication of “why” you write and “who” you are committed to be. When we are next together, I wish to hear more about Machiavelli, King David and Jesus.

Three of my favourite characters, especially King David. Looking forward to doing just that.

Great introduction! I'm glad I found you. Your 7 beliefs are wonderful. I also tip my hat to Ben Hunt who has inspired me in both finance and politics. My new Substack will offer political discourse because I, too, feel politically homeless. I focus on common sense with liberty & dignity. My goal is to heal national divisions and rebirth a healthly system. Keep writing!! Thanks!

Hey no problem. I realize this a post from last year that you pinned, but I really like seeing an overview from an author before I just jump into the flow of current posts. Your take on what matters was really thoughtful. My Substack will officially begin next week. I think it will run 10 months. It's a project with a defined beginning and ending, not an attempt to write for a permanent audience. I chose this route to avoid the pain of trying to get published as a first-time author, but also to get discussion and dialogue (if possible) going about political renewal. Thanks!
